![]() Paul CaronPaul Caron was associated with JP Morgan in the US, Europe, and the Middle East, for most of his business career. In Belgium, he was head of JP Morgan, Belgium, and General Manager of Euroclear, a cooperative formed of many of the world's major banks, central banks and financial institutions. Euroclear acts as a clearing house and central depository of the world's international bond and equity markets. In 1983, Paul Caron was asked to head JP Morgan (Suisse) S.A. Paul took retirement in 1990. This allowed more time for a number of non-banking interests. Amongst them, Paul was the Co-Executive Director of CEPS (Center for European Policy Studies), a Brussels-based "think tank" supported by the EC, some European central banks and a number of foundations and European and American multinationals. He also played a role in a number of philanthropic organizations, including Treasurer of the International Catholic Children's Bureau (ICCB). He is presently on a number of boards of banks and industrial companies in Europe, and in the United States. Originally from Los Angeles, California, he graduated from Georgetown University (1957) in English Literature and Biology, taught biology locally, and then attended Harvard Law School (1958-1959), spent time in France and received an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1966.
